Grout Haze Removal

Grout haze is the cement based haze that is left on the tiles after they have been grouted and should be removed as soon as possible. The longer the grout haze is allowed to sit and dry on the tiles the more difficult it will be to remove.

There are many other factors that affect how difficult grout haze will be to remove. For example removing the haze from smooth ceramic and porcelain tile is easier than rough stone such as slate and sandstone or more porous clay tiles. Another factor is the type of grout and how it was mixed.

If attempting to remove grout haze that has set yourself you need to be very careful how you clean certain tiles and what products are used. For example some products are acidic and if used on acid sensitive tiles then you could cause permanent damage.
